CSR - 2017

On 8 September 2017, PT SMFL Leasing Indonesia successfully held its Financial Literacy Education seminar at the Indonesian College of Police Science and Technology (PTIK-STIK), while simultaneously fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.

Background

1. Organised to comply with Regulation of the Financial Services Authority (POJK) No. 1/POJK.07/2013 concerning Customer Protection in the Financial Services Sector, subsequently elaborated in Circular Letter of the Financial Services Authority (SEOJK) No. No.1/SEOJK.07/2014 concerning Implementation of Financial Literacy Education for Consumers and/or the Public. The seminar comprised a financial awareness raising event for consumers and members of the public, representing our obligation under a commitment to compliance for finance companies in Indonesia.

2. Lessons have been learned at PT SMFL Leasing Indonesia from experience in litigation relating to the Police, and therefore the 2017 Financial Literacy seminar was specifically designed for the Indonesian College of Police Science and Technology (PTIK-STIK).

Objectives

1. To inform the police force throughout Indonesia and PTIK-STIK in particular about leasing schemes, fiduciary agreements and alertness in investment. This knowledge can provide a basis for the police forces in Indonesia for carrying out their field duties when dealing with cases relating to leasing and fiduciary agreements.

2. The acquisition of a large body of important knowledge for the interests of and better cooperation and understanding between finance companies and the police on the issues of leasing and fiduciary agreements and alertness in investment will support global financial and economic development in Indonesia.
