On 29 October 2018, PT SMFL Leasing Indonesia successfully held its seminar for Education of Financial Literacy and Inclusion at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Atma Jaya Catholic University, while simultaneously fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.

Background

1. Organised for compliance with the following Regulation of the Financial Services Authority (POJK) and Circular Letters of the Financial Services Authority (SEOJK):

a. POJK No. 76/POJK.07/2016 concerning Improvement of Financial Literacy and Inclusion for Consumers and/or the Public.

b. SEOJK No. 30/SEOJK.07/2016 concerning Activities for Improving Financial Literacy in the Financial Services Sector;

c. SEOJK No. 31/SEOJK.07/2016 concerning Activities in Support of Improving Financial Inclusion in the Financial Services Sector;

This event was held to raise public awareness and financial inclusion under our obligations as finance company in Indonesia that upholds its commitments and compliance.

2. The primary concern that motivated PT SMLF Leasing Indonesia to provide Financial Literacy and Inclusion Education to the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Atma Jaya Catholic University was to strengthen public awareness and understanding of the need to start financial planning at a young age. This is consistent with the OJK objective of helping the public to become financially “literate” and understand the various types of financial services and/or products offered by financial companies, and the fact that financial literacy must begin while still young.

Objectives

1. To introduce and provide understanding of financing mechanisms and transactions to encourage the public to become financially literate and understand the various types of financial services and/or products offered by finance companies.

2. To raise student awareness of how important it is these days to start financial planning from an early age so that they will be able to manage their personal financial planning to avoid financial problems and support the development of the financial sector in Indonesia and the global economy.

On 29 October 2018, PT SMFL Leasing Indonesia successfully held its seminar on Education for Financial Literacy and Inclusion at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Atma Jaya Catholic University (UAJ-FEB), while also fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR). Broadly speaking, the event was a seminar organised by OJK on the subject of Introduction to Financial Planning Involving Financing Mechanisms and Transactions, and was followed by an introduction to SMFL Indonesia. The CSR items comprises 3 laptops and 3 pointers in support of the education provided at UAJ-FEB.
Attending the event were Mr Toshiyuki Seki in the capacity of President Director and Mr Saiful Ichlas and Mr Boni Ario, Directors of PT SMFL Leasing Indonesia, and Ms Greta Joice Siahaan, the Deputy Director of Literacy and Inclusion at OJK.
